Liberals have been rejoicing in the fact that Thomas Matthew Crooks, the would-be assassin of President Donald Trump was a registered Republican, but that’s not the whole truth.
The New York Times was strangely quick to dig up Crooks’ voter registration and their speed in doing so likely had something to do with the fact that his name had an R next to it, rather than a D – on paper anyways.
Quickly, the narrative became that a “White Republican man with an AR-15” took a shot at Donald Trump. This is the kind of narrative that leftists have DREAMT of but the problem with it is that it’s another one of the media’s attempts to mislead and spread anti-GOP propaganda.
Crooks may have been registered as a Republican but that’s not saying much considering that anyone can go out and register for whatever party they want. They can change their registration yearly in fact and vote in opposing ways every election. A person’s voter registration does not make them an automatic supporter of that party’s candidate (hello…have the media never heard of NeverTrumpers).
A more accurate way to see how someone leans politically is to see how they spend their money – and in the case of Crooks, he spent his money donating to the Democrat Party.
But the proof that Crooks was a raging leftist runs even deeper than that.
One of Crooks’ former classmates, Vincent Taormina revealed in a recent interview with Fox News that Crooks was very passionate about politics and was a far-leftist who, contrary to what the liberal media is telling us, has always been VERY anti-Trump.

Taormina said, “So, I brought up the fact that I’m Hispanic and I’m for Trump and he [Crooks] said, ‘Well, you’re Hispanic so shouldn’t you hate Trump?’ And, I was like, ‘No, he’s a great president.’ And, he called me stupid or insinuated I was stupid.”
Taormina went on to describe Crooks as a know-it-all type when it came to politics saying, “He would just say it in a tone that was like I’m better than you in a type of way.” If you’ve ever argued with a Democrat, you know exactly what Taormina is referring to, leftists love to claim the moral high ground.
But it gets worse.
Crooks and his entire friend group often threatened to shoot up the school. The high school that Crooks attended, “Bethel Park High School,” was shut down over threats in both 2016 and 2017 while he was a student.
Even though leftists have been shouting it from the rooftops and using it to prove their narrative that White conservatives with guns are the “biggest threat to America,” it’s pretty obvious that Crooks was NOT a Republican.
But Democrats have also been seizing on the shooting as an opportunity to increase the calls to ban guns in America.
Biden has definitely been more vocal about his desire to ban weapons in America to stop shootings from happening – despite the fact that last I checked, attempting to assassinate a president was illegal and that didn’t seem to stop Crooks.
Moreover, how convenient is it that Crooks used an AR-15 – the very gun which the left has been slamming as a “dangerous weapon of war” for some time now.
Even more “convenient” is that on the day of the assassination attempt, hours before it happened, Joe Biden tweeted out to call for a crackdown on guns.
The media is in FULL propaganda mode right now to deflect the blame from themselves and the left on what caused Crooks to attempt an assassination on Donald Trump. They know if they aren’t successful at turning this narrative around onto guns or Republicans they’ll not only lose the White House but power over voters on how to feel about every issue—something they’ve enjoyed for far too long.
